ASICS Gel-1130

The Gel-1130 first appeared in 2008 as a running shoe, and ASICS has since brought it back as an everyday trainer. It has become one of the most popular ways into the retro runner look, partly because it is simple, light and easy to style, and partly because there are so many colourways.

The design

A breathable mesh upper is layered with synthetic overlays, usually finished in silver or a contrasting tone. GEL cushioning sits in the rearfoot, inside a sculpted midsole that gives the shoe its early 2000s shape without making it bulky. Compared with the Gel-Kayano 14, it is slimmer and less technical, which is exactly why a lot of people prefer it for daily wear.

Our colourways

This is our largest ASICS range. For everyday neutrals, White Pure Silver, White Shark Skin, White Piedmont Grey and Steel Grey Black are safe bets. Softer colours come through in Cream Blueberry, Blush Pure Silver, Wild Dove and White Restful Teal. For something stronger, look at Verdigris Pure Silver, Faded Denim Pure Silver, White Red Snapper, Evergreen Black or Irvine Black. Warmer tones include White Clay Canyon and Cream Cocoa Powder.

The Gel-1130 is comfortable from day one and works with almost anything, from wide-leg jeans to Essentials sweatpants.
