Proof you can hold
Every pair leaves us with our security tag fitted, a pull-tight seal that cannot be refitted once it is cut. It goes on at the final stage, after the pair has been checked.
So the pair that arrives is the pair that was inspected. Nothing to take on trust, it is either on the shoe or it is not.
